Soccer boots are probably the most important article for a soccer player. We all know boots don’t make the player, but the right boots will make a dramatic difference to how you play.
Olympic International’s new range of soccer boots includes the Attack, Force, Italia II, Foul, Rio and Off Side. The range is bright and vibrant which screams action all the way! Not only are the synthetic uppers eye catching, but also flexible and water resistant. The soles are light and flexible with colourful multi-stud designs offering great grip. The inner socks are made from a memory foam offering great comfort.
Says Stuart Hopwood, Marketing Executive at Olympic International: “Our boots are very comfy and supportive, secure across the instep and in the heel, but roomy enough to wiggle your toes. Exciting and invigorating design is blended with the best performance, seamless constructions, fashion-forward design, as well as advanced technologies and materials. You can only score with this boot!”
Hopwood continues that whether you are young or old, a new player to the game or a seasoned pro, everyone needs help selecting a new pair of soccer boots. “The first step is to work out your personal playing style. Consider the position that you like to play most on the field and why you like to play there. Goalkeepers need greater traction and an ability to move fast laterally while a nice strike zone for kick-outs and back-passes is key. Defensive players need slightly more protection and something that allows for a clean pass on the ball. Midfielders need a boot that offers control and the ability to run up and down the pitch, whilst wingers look for a lightweight boot that provides the ability to accelerate and change direction quickly. Forwards need a boot that offers a clean strike zone and provides minimal weight for explosive movements.”
Hopwood adds that you also need to select your boots according to the pitches you will be playing on such as wet, muddy patches, natural grass surfaces with no regular rain or dry surfaces, where grass has been worn away.
Says Hopwood: “Many of us are gearing up for the new season, which often means having to break in a new pair of soccer boots and that can be painful. Olympic International’s soccer boot materials are now softer than they used to be, reducing the time needed for you to break them in.”
You also need to ensure that your soccer boots are the correct size. “Before wearing new soccer boots, rub Vaseline on all of the contact points on your foot that are susceptible to blistering as it will help reduce friction against your skin. Try wearing your boots around the house a few times and gradually introduce them during training sessions. After using them, clean them with a soft brush or sponge, and stuff them tightly with newspaper or use a shoe stretcher. This will help keep the boot in good shape and dry the moisture out. Also, let them dry naturally after each use. These tips will ensure that you get excellent value out of your new purchase.”
Hopwood concludes: “Always remember that it’s about enjoying the game. As you get older you can decide if it’s something you really want to do. Then it’s about dedicating yourself and believing in yourself!”
